Which Marketo Summit Sessions to Attend?
The Marketo Summit is a fantastic opportunity to meet many like-minded marketing professionals and learn new things. If you come out of the event with three actionable items that you can implement within the next three months, you are a winner.
Jenn DiMaria, RevEngine Marketing
DID YOU KNOW? You can attend a maximum of twelve sessions—less than 10% of sessions offered. However, unless you can clone yourself, you must plan in advance for success.
How do you navigate which sessions to attend? As others such as Josh Hill and Chandar Pattabhiram have noted, plan in advance.
There are so many great sessions at the Marketo Summit 2017, it can be very overwhelming. Honestly, it’s like going to a great restaurant, you really can’t pick a bad session. Don’t worry, Marketo is recording them all so you can catch up on the ones you missed.
Where do you start?
When I plan for the Marketo Summit, I take a three step approach. Maybe yours is different but planning in advance is key.
- I start with the 11 Marketo Champion sessions where Marketo’s top users show off top tips and tricks. I’ll probably get to 3 or 4 sessions. See the Eleven Marketo Champion Sessions. If you have time on Tuesday, see RevEngine Marketing’s own Jenn DiMaria speak at Fake It Til You Make It: A Practical Marketer’s Guide to Taking Over the World.
- I then fill in most of the remaining slots with a few priority topics. For example, I am really interested in learning about new adtech technologies and analytics. I’ll find a mix of sessions that match to those topics.
- I work in a wild card and attend some random session to learn something new that I didn’t expect.
If you have time on Tuesday, see RevEngine Marketing’s own Jenn DiMaria speak at Fake It Til You Make It: A Practical Marketer’s Guide to Taking Over the World.

Who is Speaking at the 2017 Marketo Summit?
If you want a good seat for the keynote, make sure to get to the auditorium at least 30 minutes before. Otherwise, you could find yourself standing.
Overall, who is speaking at the Marketo Summit?
From the entertainment industry, Queen Latifa are James Corden are leading the Marketo Summit keynotes this year. I’m a big fan of Corden…maybe he’ll do some remote car karaoke. Here’s my vote for him pulling someone from the audience to join him on stage for a little singing.
On the business front, the usual suspects of Marketo speakers will take the stage. Steve Lucas (CEO Marketo) and Chandar Pattabhiram (CMO Marketo) will cover the latest Marketo vision.
James Cooper and Shiv Sighn also.
Available via Live Stream
If it’s like 2016, Marketo will make the 2017 keynotes available on live stream again for this year’s summit. So, in case you can’t make it to San Francisco, we’ll provide the link below when it becomes available.
